Alaska girls wrestling began with female wrestlers competing alongside boys until it was officially sanctioned in 2014. In 2015, the state hosted its first separate girls' state tournament.

Today, Alaska girls wrestling continues to thrive, producing national champions, All-Americans, and role models who inspire future generations. From humble beginnings to a force on the national stage, Alaska's female wrestlers remain true trailblazers, carrying forward a legacy of resilience and excellence.
