our history
Alaska girls wrestling began with female wrestlers competing alongside boys until it was officially sanctioned in 2014. In 2015, the state hosted its first separate girls' state tournament.
Today, Alaska girls wrestling continues to thrive, producing national champions, All-Americans, and role models who inspire future generations. From humble beginnings to a force on the national stage, Alaska's female wrestlers remain true trailblazers, carrying forward a legacy of resilience and excellence.

to officially sanctioned Girls Wrestling (2014). a decade later, 47 states have now sanctioned the sport.
Michaela hutchinson
of soldotna, became the first Girl to ever win a state championship against boys (2006) and was the first 4x women's national champion in college (2011).
