Courtney Howard

A former heavyweight D1 wrestler for Boston College, Courtney Howard was at one point the most decorated D1 male Alaskan wrestler in college. Before Mt. Edgecumbe, Courtney assistant coached at Sitka High School and Lakeland College, while he obtained his masters. Since taking over the program in 2022, the MEHS braves have climbed the team rankings from 8th in 2022 to 4th in 2023, and finally 1st in 2024, securing the teams very first boys state wrestling team title.

Pete Dickinson

While at Div. II Minnesota State-Moorhead, Pete Dickinson became the first ever two-time NCAA All-American from Alaska with his performance in 1999 and 2000. After college he returned to Alaska to work in the oilfields, and later opened the All-American Training Center, a 15,000 square foot wrestling facility, open 24/7, that is home to more than 180 wrestlers of all ages in Soldotna. In 2024, Pete led the Soldotna Stars to become back to back Alaska Girls State Champions.

Aaron Routon

Coach Routon has been coaching for over 20 years as head coach and assistant coach between Mt. Edgecumbe and Sitka High School. His welcoming demeanor and willingness to jump in and be anyones partner wether they're 103lbs or 285lbs lead the MEHS Braves to win their first ever boys title in 2024.
