EUREKA, Ill. – Eureka's McKenzie Cook (Homer, Alaska/Homer) has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Wrestler of the Week.
Cook earned the honor after a dominant performance at the Fred Johnson Duals, held this weekend at Augustana College. Competing in the 145-pound weight class, she finished with a perfect 3-0 record. Among her victories were two wins by fall and one by technical fall, including an impressive victory over an NCAA Division II opponent from Quincy University.
Cook and the Red Devils will return to action on Friday, Jan. 10, when they host Illinois Wesleyan for their first home meet of the season. The dual is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
